Winter
Gales and storms to 100 knots
and sometimes more. Sometimes lasting for weeks. Lots of east winds, in
advance of storms.
Spring
Occasional storms to 70 knots.
Sometimes last for days.
Summer
Strong NW winds from Central
Oregon south to San Francisco. Strongest near Cape Blanco. Winds to 50-70
knots sometimes, often 30-40.
Fall
First storms in late August,
1 in 3 years. Otherwise September marks the begginning of storm season.
Calm between storms.
Hurricanes
In the fall of 1997 a Mexican hurricane
reached 40 degress North Latitude. That's off Eureka California. This is
a very rare occurence.
