run from west to east. Current runs from east to west in the Gulf of Alaska.
Winter
Numerous giant storms often
80-100 knots. Seas to 60 feet. Very dangerous. Inside passage to SE Alaska
relatively safe, but cold and windy(up to 50 knots).
Spring
Similar to winter, fewer storms
Summer
Gulf of Alaska very calm, except
during short small storms up to 30 knots or so. Current runs east to west
and the wind is often out of the SE.
Fall
Similar to summer, until the
storms start. After that, look out!
